Parents & Guardians:

The Quest wants to make sure that your camper is prepared to have an incredible safe and fun experience this summer. It is equally important to our staff that the parents of our campers have peace of mind knowing that they are safe.

We are an accredited camp with the Saskatchewan Camping Association so you can be assured your child will be properly cared for.

Health & Safety

Our staff and volunteers are all screened and trained to provide a safe environment.
We always aim for physical safety in activities and follow health and cleanliness practices.
Camper safety is so important to us and you can trust that our camp is run by experienced staff who understand the balance between safe and fun.
We will always have a camp nurse on-site during summer camp weeks.
Our experienced nurses are prepared to:
-Deliver regular medications to campers
-Bandage and care for minor injuries
-Provide first-aid
-When necessary, give over-the-counter medications

In the event of an emergency, the nearest hospital is in Prince Albert (36 minute drive).

Please ensure that you have sent us your health forms! If you have not yet submitted your forms, please email them to director@questnet.ca or bring them to camp as your camper cannot participate without a health form present!
We have trained and qualified waterfront staff, and kids are not allowed to swim in the lake without supervision.

Medications

All medications (including Tylenol, Advil, etc) that are brought to The Quest must be given to our camp nurse at check in.
The nurse will ensure that it is properly administered to your camper.

Homesickness

Homesickness does happen with some campers, however we discourage calling home as this often only brings about more homesickness.
If it is necessary, the camp director will call home and discuss the situation and will make a decision with the parent/guardian how to handle the situation and whether or not the child should go home.

Food & Diet

Camp food is delicious and nutritious! At every meal there will be healthy options and there is always an abundance of food!
Our cook will accommodate special diets with advance notice. Food is an integral part of an enjoyable camp experience and we want to make sure that we are doing our best to accommodate those who have special dietary restrictions. Please contact us to discuss how we can accommodate your camper’s allergies/sensitivities.

Cabins

Campers are placed in different cabins, based on their age and sex.
On our registration form there is a spot to request up to 2 friends that your child would like to share a cabin with.
Cabin assignments are done before camp begins. We will make an effort to accommodate cabin-mate requests.
If your child is coming for the first time or is not bringing a friend, don’t worry!
One of the greatest parts about camp is getting to meet new people and make new friends within cabins, as well during daily activities.
We have 2 Cabin Leaders dedicated to each cabin so that every child is properply supervised. In addition, our leaders are here to ensure your child has their best week at camp - they really care!

Lost & Found

If your camper is missing an item once you return home, please email us with your camper’s name, the week they attended, and a description of the item.
We will do our best to get items back to their owners. If your item has been turned in, you will be contacted with further direction.
Summer camp items are kept until the end of September, and then donated to those in need.
Please label all important items!

Bible Camp?

Yes, the Quest at Christopher Lake is a Christian summer Bible Camp. In addition to all the great fun and activities we have a daily chapel time with a guest speaker and cabin ‘devo’ times led by the cabin leaders. Not all of our campers have a Bible or go to church, and we respect that. We do have extra Bibles that campers can use if they wish. It’s important that all parents know this and that we respect their family.

Arrival

Upon arrival, our friendly staff will be there to help you check in your camper!
During check in:

  • Sign your camper in

  • Check in with our camp nurse

  • Health Forms

Once that is complete, our cabin leaders will show you and your camper to their assigned cabin and give you some time to settle in.
NOTE: A camp T-shirt AND Tuck shop is included with our pricing!
• Campers can check in at 3:00PM on the first day of camp

• Campers can be picked up at 3:00PM on the last day of camp
(There will be a short presentation highlighting our camp week).

• Directions to our camp can be found HERE

Cell Phones

To ensure everyone has the best week of summer camp possible we do NOT allow campers to have cell phones. We also restrict our staff’s use of their phones - so that there are no cell phones in the cabin and staff are fully engaged with their campers. We feel that everyone has the opportunity to fully engage in the great outdoors and experience nature. We think that cell phones (and social media) are a distraction from all that camp has to offer.
In the event that you need to get in touch with your child (or vice versa) we have a camp phone for that purpose. We will be quick to call a parent if their child isn’t having a fun week so that both the kids and parents can rest easy.

THANK YOU - for entrusting your child with us!
